First soldering iron — PHP 1500 budget enough?

Po, kelangan ko ng soldering iron for our intro to electronics class. Budget ko mga PHP 1500 max po. Sa YouTube parang yung "T12" iron ang mura tapos OK pa quality, totoo po ba?

Importante po sa akin: hindi ko sirain yung components ko habang natututo (kasi student budget pa rin lol). Tips po sa first iron? Kelangan po ba talaga ng adjustable temperature, or basic na 60W na lang?

Saang shop niyo binili yung first iron niyo, Lazada/Shopee or local na lang sa Quiapo? Hesitant ako sa pure-online kasi minsan returns nakakahirap.

Yung T12 iron talagang well-priced para sa quality. Mas mabilis mag-init kaysa yung mga old-style Hakko clones, mas precise yung temperature control.

For PHP 1500, kayang-kaya. Specifically: yung KSGER T12 station with a few tip variants (chisel, conical, knife), around PHP 1200-1400 sa Lazada. Bumili ka rin ng decent flux paste (a small jar lasts years) at solder wire (0.6mm or 0.8mm para sa fine work).

Wag mo bibilhin yung mga PHP 200 'pencil iron' na may walang temperature control. Mas masisira yung components mo with too-hot tips than help yung trabaho mo.

Last tip: laging tinning yung tip after every session. Ginagawa mong tinatakpan ng fresh solder bago mo i-off. Tatagal yung tip ng 5x longer.
