WS2812B vs SK6812 for outdoor LED signage, what holds up?

Quoting a client for a 6-meter outdoor "Open" sign. Will run sa Pasay, full sun + rain.
WS2812B IP65 strips work, dami akong installed. But humidity here ruins them after 8-12 months. Yung silicone tube gets cloudy, then water gets in.
SK6812 promises better waterproofing in the IP67 variant. Pricier (~30% more). May real-world experience kayo with SK6812 in outdoor for 1+ years?
Also: for outdoor signage that needs to last 3+ years, is there a better option than addressable strips altogether? Channel letter modules with constant-current drivers maybe?
