Estimating battery life for solar IoT node — sanity check sa numbers ko

Designing a remote weather station for a client. ESP32 + BME280, transmits via WiFi every 15 mins, deep sleep in between. Power: 6V 2W solar panel, 18650 cell with TP4056 charger.

My napkin math:
  • ~150mA active for 30s every 15 mins
  • ~10µA in deep sleep
  • Average draw ~5mA over 24 hours
  • 18650 (~3000mAh) lasts ~25 days standalone (no solar)
Should run indefinitely on solar in PH conditions, with battery covering cloudy days. Sino dito may successful long-term solar IoT deploy? Curious about real-world numbers — both nasaktan kayo ng what?
