Sumo bot weight reduction below 500g, what got cut?

Class changed for next competition: 500g max instead of 1kg. Current bot is 850g. Surgery needed.

Weight breakdown:
  • Chassis (aluminum 3mm): 180g, biggest cut potential
  • Motors (2x N20 metal gear): 110g, replace with smaller plastic gear
  • Battery (4S 1500mAh): 160g, downsize to 2S 1000mAh
  • Wheels (silicon, large): 140g, replace with smaller
  • Electronics (Uno + sensors): 90g
  • Misc (wires, fasteners): 170g
Plan: carbon fiber chassis (50g vs 180g), smaller motors and wheels, smaller battery. Net: ~470g hopefully.

Lost in transition: pushing power (smaller motors and lower voltage). Compensate with smarter logic.

Anyone built sub-500g sumo? What chassis material did you settle on?
